Recent pictures

I'm back drawing weird faces again! After my internet absence, i had a lot more time to sketch and have now got it down to 2 pics a day. I've got a bit of colour in them now, but not completely impressed with them. I suppose i'll just keep busking it, until the brainwave strikes me. It seems like the only thing that is in danger of striking me is all this rain, its very soggy around here. Its a strange thing that all these overpaid footballers complain about the weather but still manage to sign for football teams from soggy climates! Another 2 have jumped ship for horrendous amounts of money, it must be the indoor training facilities, they must be of world class standard!...I'm only jealous. :)

I'm back and i'm thirsty!

Well, i think i've fixed things, but everyday something has been cropping up to make me suspect that not everything is right with this pc. I suppose its just a matter of time till the magic box explodes, but i'm going to make sure it goes down painfully well used. Ooer! :) Since my last post i've completed my sketch a day for a year idea-thing, and now i'm just doing sketches whenever i feel like it. I must admit that i think the quality of these pictures is a lot stronger than last year, think i was a bit stuck for ideas, whereas now i just put pen on paper and the hand takes over. So hopefully now i can continue doing all this drawing and posting stuff, if anybody is interested, do send me a word or two...i do feel a little bit stranded out here, but i have been away for a bit, so i understand...just don't make a habit of it! :P

It's a messy business sometimes, drinking!

I've had a request to transfer some of my biro drawings to canvas, so i'll have to look into it. It could be costly and may not give me the best results, but i'll experiment here at home then possibly check it out with the pro's. If none of that works out, i'll be seriously avoiding staggering into a flimsy table and knocking over a pile of drinks into the laps of unsuspecting suited gentlemen!

...but colourful, is time consuming!

Its easier to just draw a picture with a black biro than all this messing around with colour, especially on this rather slow computer. I'm not so pleased with the results really, but as per usual, i'll be trying to salvage or improve them. I don't know if its my eyesight, but i have to keep checking out stuff to see if it looks ok, another reason as to why i'm not keen on portraits!

Life is colourful...

I'm going to continue with the colour portrait stuff for a while i think, even though they are time consuming to do. I've also got an itching to do some woodwork...furniture making, but i've been a bit clumsy lately, very accident prone...so i don't know if i'll risk it yet! Its safer :)

Cough, splutter, achoo...

I'm now itching to do some more colour stuff, and i've got an idea for some photography too! I don't know what'll come next, i need to get thinking and drawing now, but that will happen after sleep...note the time!

Fools day...

Don't believe what they say to you today, its all lies...throw your trust out the window, don't be taken in. The lies and jokes are all playful fun, but be wary of the folks who continue to be less than truthful, they are all over the place. Its hard to root them out, best thing is to heed no one. After today, it will continue...i'm not going to be taken in...so don't bother trying!

Ronaldo does it again!

I'm glad all that Easter nonsense is out of the way, i'm not into festivities and bank holidays, reminds me of Sundays years ago, when everything was closed and it was impossible to do stuff.

A bit fed up of the pen at the moment, inquisitive people who act like donkeys don't help...making unreasonable demands, and of course they know far more than i do about what i'm doing. Ho hum, bit grouchy today, i should be ok later...this computer is really slow to work with if i'm doing my colour stuff, thats annoying too, i think i'm going to lie down in a darkened room and meditate or snore...whatever happens first!

I'm much better now. I'm back drawing and painting, and feeling creative and inspired and everything! I've made 10 colour paintings, in a very sketchy style, i'm still not too convinced as to what i'm doing with them, but after a little more consideration i'll be a lot more ruthless. The pen sketches are not as grotty as i'd like to them to be either, so i have to work more on that too!

Health and safety...pah!

I've done it again! I've been exceedingly clumsy and damaged my drawing hand. I really must learn to use the other one in times like this, its becoming a regular occurrance and i'm becoming more frustrated. Its only 2 rather complicated stitches, but still... I've decided, my word for today is Ambidextrous... I should really take classes or get a book. Here's a couple of the colour portrait pics on the right somewhere, i'm going to try to make them much more detailed, but i'm liking the random-ness so far!

Slip, slap, slop...

Well, the painting is underway, and its looking alright i suppose...well, it changes every 10 minutes, but i've always been the same. I used to be like this after a haircut! I'd strop for half an hour then i'd find a way of making it look descent and then end up thinking things were pretty cool!! :)) Yes, i know its sad, but do you want me to smile ALL the time? Hee, hee. Back to the pics. I'm still doing the faces, but with the paint, and its a lot more uncontrolled/childlike, but i'm liking the effects. One will be displayed soon, but i want to finish another few, before they get looked at. I'm fussy like that.

Today is painting day...

I've got a few things to do yet, but i'm determined to make this evening the start of my painting stint for the month. I've got about 10 small canvases that i want to blitz, so when i'm happy with the results, i'll post one or two here. If i don't feel confident with them, i'll continue to work them until i'm satisfied...this could be really very messy! Its either that or the bonfire!

Happy Mothers Day...

Its March, a new month, new opportunities, a new start, better weather, a brighter outlook...New drawings! NOT! Only joking, of course. I've got loads of really creative, mindblowing ideas and avenues to investigate, but i'm also stuck! I'm definately going to start painting this month, maybe even this coming week, i've got ideas i want to try, i'll show you if they look ok. I want to start drawing other stuff, i'm fed up of faces and corners of rooms, small comic strips sound good, but i'm not very confident with em! Anyway, Happy Mothers Day all, not too many chocs now!

Head of a thrill seeker!

The time is almost upon us! Not long to go now, i'm not going to miss bits of this like the last one!Yep, i'm still talking about 'Dragons', got my drawings done for today, but might do some scribbling tonight...we'll see. Windy city today!

I think i'm going to try concentrating on poster stuff again now. I want to get a couple finished, but i know they'll never reach the quality of the Dragons posters/flyers/cd insert or website, which are completely lovely! I'm really jealous! :) Hey, i'll give it a try, then i can attempt my other plans which are just as ambitious! I'm off to get 'Dragons' tix now.

Forget euro's, get Leks, its the future, i'm telling you!

As predicted my drawings didn't shape up too well yesterday, i must try harder...Where have i heard that one before? Almost into the last quarter of the drawing year, well i did start all this in June, so in 6 days! I still don't know what i'll be doing after the year is up, but i know it'll be creative. :)

Well, well, well, well,well!

My ears are still buzzing from the 'surf' last night, and my head doesn't feel too sensible either, i think my drawings might suffer today, that's if i manage to get any done! I'll try though, my days feel wasted unless i do a couple. Bring on Dragons at Academy, now, now, now.

Here's a pic i did last night, but looking at it today, i'm not as keen on it as i was yesterday! Nada Surf tonight, i'm looking forward to it, should be nice! Gotta go now but plenty more words and pics later...is there anybody out there?

Do some drawing...

I don't know if anyone has noticed any of this picture and wordy blog thing that i've got here...i bet i'm talking to myself! They say its a sign of sanity!...Anyway, if you do read any of this, how about sending a comment and letting me know if my drawings are too much like 'cartoons', i'd like to know what you think, because i'm convinced i've been cursed by an old art tutor, he didn't like my cartoons and told me to draw other stuff. I don't want to drop any names or anything, but Steve Bell reckoned i should've told the tutor where to go and to carry on drawing my stuff...

Drowsy sketches!

I made 9 quick sketches this evening, but i'm not very happy with any of them really. I'll do a few more tomorrow and then work on them slowly as time passes, see if i can save them. I think i'll be moving from drawing big mouths to long mouths! You'll know what i mean if you see them. They should be more colourful too, but i don't know about that yet either!
